A routine chain adjustment on a quiet San Antonio street turned lethal Friday night when a man was crushed between his pickup truck and an attached trailer, police said. Officers were dispatched to Saipan Place shortly after 9:30 p.m., where they found the man pinned between the two vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators described the case as a mechanical failure and said there were no immediate indications of foul play.
According to News 4 San Antonio, officers responded around 9:36 p.m. to the 300 block of Saipan Place after a call reporting a person in distress. Investigators told the station the man had been readjusting chains when a mechanical component “remained engaged,” trapping him between the trailer and the truck. Detectives said the death appears accidental, and the investigation remains active.
