San Pedro’s Lighthouse Cafe is about to get a next-door companion: a neighborhood market aimed at filling grocery bags, not just breakfast plates. Owners Jason and Cindy Fogle are reviving the former Point Fermin Market space as Lighthouse Market, with opening plans now hinging on a liquor license and a round of interior cleanup.
Jason Fogle told What Now Los Angeles that the market is intended to carry produce, essential items and grab-and-go meals. The team is repainting and cleaning the space to give the storefront a finished look.
A New Market For Produce, Staples And Ready-Made Meals
That lineup would put Lighthouse Market in a different lane from the cafe, whose official menu stretches from omelets and skillets to burgers, sandwiches and salads. Lighthouse Cafe’s website lists the San Pedro restaurant as open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., adding a practical shopping option alongside the existing sit-down operation.
The Fogles took over Lighthouse Cafe in 2021, according to What Now Los Angeles, and the market project extends their presence in the same San Pedro neighborhood. For locals, the pitch is straightforward: a familiar cafe name attached to a storefront designed for everyday items and quick meals.
Opening Date Still Depends On Licensing
No firm launch date has been announced yet. Fogle said the market could open as soon as the liquor license comes through, leaving the timeline dependent on that approval and the final cleanup work inside the former market.
