Orlando’s Main Street districts are turning the city into one big tasting route starting Friday, July 24, as Sip & Savor Weeks kicks off a two-week, citywide dining promotion that runs through Aug. 9. More than 100 neighborhood restaurants, bars, breweries and cafés are on board with prix fixe menus, discounted bundles and limited-time dishes. Organizers say the push is meant to steer residents toward independent spots during the slower summer season and spotlight the variety of local dining across the city.

As reported by WFTV, the promotion brings together more than 100 businesses across Orlando’s Main Street districts. Mike Griffin, executive director of City District Orlando, told the station, "Sip & Savor Weeks is an invitation to experience Orlando one neighborhood at a time."

What's on Offer

Menus and deals vary by neighborhood. At Domu’s East End Market location, a pre-fixe bundle stacks three wings, the Richie Rich ramen, and soft-serve for $25, as listed on the Domu page on Sip & Savor Weeks. In the Milk District, Se7enbites is running breakfast combos (coffee plus a pastry for $6 and coffee plus a biscuit for $10) and a $13 sandwich meal with chips and a drink, according to its page on Sip & Savor Weeks. Patrons are encouraged to check the merchant page for full details.

Why Organizers Say It Matters

Sip & Savor Weeks was created by the nonprofit Main Street districts as a grassroots way to lift locally owned businesses outside the tourist corridor, organizers say. The City of Orlando's Main Street program has flagged cross-district promotions like this in its annual reports as a tool to boost foot traffic and small-business revenue, according to Main Street annual reports published by the City of Orlando.

The program runs July 24 through Aug. 9. Many offers are limited by time, availability and hours, so patrons should check individual merchant pages before heading out.
