
A routine day in south Phoenix turned tragic on Wednesday when a young boy was found unresponsive inside a car and later died at a nearby hospital, according to police.
Authorities say the child’s parents discovered him in the vehicle near 24th Street and Baseline Road and called for help. Officers arrived to find the boy in critical condition, and he was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The case remains under investigation, police said.
According to KTAR, Phoenix police responded to a report of an injured person in the area after the parents found the child in the car. Officials said the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death.

Phoenix police say detectives are working to piece together what happened but have not released the boy’s age or identity. No arrests have been announced.
