Houston’s next mall sugar rush may arrive in a cloud of spun sugar. Sugar Fluffs is planning a new storefront at The Galleria in Uptown, where it is expected to bring hand-shaped cotton candy, more than 25 flavors and party-friendly treats to the Houston market by the end of 2026.
A Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing lists a 1,477-square-foot tenant finish-out at the mall, with construction scheduled to start September 1 and wrap up October 31. The project is estimated at $130,000 and names Jean-Felix Bureau as the tenant, according to TDLR records.
Bureau confirmed the Houston plans in a conversation with WhatNow Houston, though he did not share additional details. That leaves the launch window clearer than the menu: a late-2026 arrival is planned, but an exact opening day, hours and pricing have not been announced.
Hand-Spun Cotton Candy Is The Main Attraction
The concept is cotton candy as edible character art, with artists shaping real sugar into animals and other recognizable figures before adding hand-rolled fondant details. Sugar Fluffs says it was founded in 2020 by a hospitality professional, and its official website describes the treats as nut-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, kosher and halal.
The brand also markets its creations for birthdays, weddings, corporate events and other celebrations, making the planned shop more than a grab-and-go candy stop. With more than 25 flavors advertised, the Houston location appears designed to serve both mall shoppers and families looking for a sugary centerpiece.
The paperwork uses the name “Sugar Fluff,” while the company’s website brands the business as SugarFluffs Cotton Candy World. WhatNow Houston reported that the brand currently serves French Canada and has eight locations across Canada, meaning the Galleria project could mark its first Houston storefront if the branding carries through as expected.
Houston Debut Depends On The Fall Buildout
The state filing lists the project as registered and privately funded, rather than as a completed opening announcement. If construction follows the proposed schedule, Sugar Fluffs could be ready for Houston customers this fall or winter, bringing a decidedly fluffy new dessert option to Uptown.
