A century-old dessert chain is about to test North Dallas’ sweet tooth, with MilkShake Factory set to open in the Preston Valley shopping center this July. The shop is bringing housemade ice cream, handspun milkshakes and premium chocolates to a stretch of Preston Road that is already packed with traffic and about to get even busier.
Grand Opening Set for Preston Valley
The new Preston Valley location is planning a grand opening party on July 11, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., complete with dessert deals, free MilkShake Factory T-shirts for early arrivals, giveaways and a live DJ, according to The Dallas Morning News. The shop will sit on the southwest corner of Preston Road and I-635, right across from the future home of the Dallas Mavericks’ arena, the outlet reports.
What’s on the Menu
MilkShake Factory serves handspun milkshakes using ice cream made in-house daily and also offers premium chocolates, sundaes, molten chocolate cups and other housemade chocolate treats, per MilkShake Factory. The Preston Valley menu highlights fan favorites such as Chocolate Dipped Strawberry and Campfire S'mores, signaling this will not be a low-sugar zone.

The Preston Valley franchise will be owned and operated by Dylan Chatterjee. In a press release, he said, “We're excited to become a part of a community that already has such a strong sense of identity,” according to coverage on Franchising.com. The Dallas opening follows the brand’s North Texas move into Grapevine, where another location debuted last year, as noted by Community Impact.

Opening festivities will include buy-one-get-one offers, free T-shirts for the first 100 customers, a gift basket for the first guest in line and a DJ spinning through the afternoon, with discounts on select desserts also on tap, according to The Dallas Morning News. The company notes that its locations make ice cream in-house, and the Preston Valley shop is hiring, with local job postings and contact information available.
The new store is listed at 12835 Preston Road, Suite 215, and is currently labeled “Coming Soon” on the brand’s website. Hours and hiring details will be updated as the July opening approaches, according to MilkShake Factory. Set in an already busy retail strip that could see a boost in visitors as nearby projects come online, the shop is positioning itself to catch both neighborhood regulars and future arena traffic in search of a sugar fix.
