An early morning shooting on Tacoma's East Side left one man dead Wednesday, and police are now treating the case as a homicide.
Officers were called to the 6900 block of East D Street, where they found an adult man with apparent gunshot wounds. Police say they immediately started life-saving efforts, but emergency responders were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians were called out, and the death is being investigated as a homicide.

What police say
According to a post from the Tacoma Police Department, officers responded to the 6900 block of East D Street and located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers began life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians were called to the area, and the case is being handled as a homicide investigation. Police said there were no suspects in custody at the time of the post.
