A late-night pizza run in East Flatbush turned violent just after 2 a.m. Friday, when a 29-year-old delivery worker was slashed and robbed while on the job, according to police. The attackers took off with both cash and the pie. The worker refused medical treatment at the scene and is expected to be OK.
The robbery
Police say the incident unfolded at 458 E 55th St shortly after 2:00 a.m. Friday, as the worker arrived to make a delivery. Three people approached the driver, and one of them pulled a knife and cut the worker's hand. The group then grabbed currency and the pizza before running off on foot, as reported by News12 | Brooklyn.

The attack comes at a time when delivery workers, a large and constantly moving workforce, have been front and center in City Hall policy debates. Per the Mayor's Office and DCWP, New York City has introduced measures such as minimum-pay rules and street "deliveristas" hubs meant to boost safety and earnings for roughly 65,000 app-based delivery workers across the five boroughs.
Who police are looking for
Investigators are now searching for two men and one woman in connection with the assault and robbery. According to police, one man was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, the other had on a white hooded sweatshirt, and the woman was dressed entirely in black. No arrests had been made at the time of the report and the investigation remains active, according to News12 | Brooklyn.
