Officers took 26-year-old Vallejo resident Hasani Ivey into custody after a search that began in the area of Allison Drive and Interstate 80. Police say Ivey was wanted on an outstanding felony warrant alleging he kidnapped a child under 14 to commit lewd or lascivious acts, with bail set at $1.2 million. Investigators traced a white Dodge SUV to a hotel, where, according to police, Ivey stepped out of a room and was arrested before being turned over to El Dorado County detectives.
How police say the search unfolded
According to the Vacaville Police Department, officers received information that the wanted suspect was believed to be in the Allison Drive/I-80 area. In response, they say they fanned out across nearby businesses, open spaces, stretches along the freeway and surrounding parking lots looking for him.
Investigators identified a white Dodge SUV as possibly tied to the person of interest and followed leads that took them to a hotel. In the department’s reel, officers converge on a room, and the video shows the suspect walking out before officers move in and take him into custody without incident. Police say he was then handed off to detectives with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.
