The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is turning up the heat on an unsolved New Year’s Eve killing in Valencia, releasing a surveillance image of a man detectives believe bolted from the scene of the shooting that left 37-year-old Devin Marshall dead.
Marshall was found just before dawn on Dec. 31, 2023, slumped in the driver’s seat of his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies discovered him in the 25700 block of Vista Fairways Drive, pulled him from the car and rushed him to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, where he later died, according to local reporting. The person seen in the newly released image has not been identified.
Sheriff shares photo to jump-start stalled case
Homicide detectives decided to go public with the photo after traditional investigative leads dried up, according to KTLA. Investigators said the image was pulled from surveillance cameras near the scene and are asking anyone who recognizes the person to contact the Sheriff’s Department.
