A black Honda crawled down a North Philadelphia block Tuesday morning while a passenger leaned out and smashed the driver's-side windows of 16 parked cars, police say. The footage captures a rolling vandalism spree that left an entire stretch of vehicles damaged and investigators hunting for the man behind it.
The vandalism happened on the 4800 block of North 12th Street, according to FOX 29 Philadelphia. The station reports that city cameras later tracked the black Honda to the 5000 block of Camac Street, and police are asking anyone who recognizes the vehicle to come forward.
Police Are Looking For The Honda And Its Passenger
The Philadelphia Police Department says tips can be submitted anonymously through its online tip form or by calling 215-686-TIPS (8477). Emergency situations should be reported to 911, while residents with video or other information can send it directly to investigators.
Another Week, Another Trail Of Broken Glass
The North Philly case comes amid a run of vehicle-related break-ins and vandalism across the city. Hoodline's recent coverage found at least seven vehicles with smashed windows in Fishtown last week, while NBC10 Philadelphia reported that at least 28 vehicles were damaged in Fairmount earlier this month. Police have not announced any connection between those incidents and Tuesday's vandalism.
No arrest or suspect identity had been announced by Thursday. For now, the surveillance video gives detectives a clear sequence to work from: a slowly moving Honda, a passenger at the window, and 16 parked cars left with shattered glass.
