The clip sparked a review by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, which said deputies were able to identify and detain at least one suspect. Detectives say the investigation is still very much active as they chase down leads and try to track everyone who was involved.
According to First Coast News, the footage, first shared widely on June 23, 2024, shows multiple men using racial slurs and directing verbal threats at the woman. The clip spread quickly across social platforms, pulling in a flood of tips that helped law enforcement narrow down suspects.
In a statement to First Coast News, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said investigators reviewed the video, identified suspects, and took him into custody in connection with the incident. The agency stressed that the case is ongoing and urged anyone with information to contact detectives.
