Lunchtime on the Seattle waterfront is getting a small but noticeable shake-up. Two food trucks have rolled into a pair of former paid parking spaces across from the Port of Seattle headquarters at Pier 69, part of a new pilot that brings rotating local lunch vendors to the area. The plan runs through the fall, with new trucks cycling in each month, adding more midday choices for workers and visitors and giving smaller operators a higher-visibility spot along the water.
How the pilot works
According to the Port of Seattle, the Pier 69 Food Truck Activation Pilot Program runs from June through October 2026 and uses two paid parking spaces across the street from the Port headquarters as weekday vending stalls. The Port says participating trucks generally operate Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rotate monthly, and must hold a City of Seattle business license along with a King County Public Health mobile-food permit. The Port also notes it prioritized newer King County businesses and vendors from historically underrepresented communities when it picked who would get in on the pilot.
Who’s on the menu
As reported by The Seattle Times, Snazzy Eats and Isidro’s set up on the pier last month, kicking off the program. The July lineup, Raspados La Rana Loka and Mr. Crazy Weenie Dogs, is slated to stay on site through July 31. Owner Jazmyne Jackson told the paper the program "gave her exposure during her first full year operating the food truck," while vendor José Soto, who co-runs the July trucks, said he acquired his trailer in 2020 and has lived in the Seattle area since 1999.
Waterfront context
The new vending slots fold into a broader wave of summer activations meant to draw more people and small businesses to the waterfront. Friends of Waterfront Park and partner groups have been programming rotating food vendors at nearby piers this season as part of a larger push to keep public spaces humming during major events and tourist-heavy weeks. Organizers describe the Pier 69 setup as a low-risk way to test demand while giving newer operators a steady, high-visibility foothold on the waterfront.
When to go
The Port says trucks are typically serving Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with vendors swapping out each month so the lunch lineup stays fresh. For July, Raspados La Rana Loka and Mr. Crazy Weenie Dogs are scheduled through July 31.
