Owner Dan Weinberger says the already sprawling menu will grow from about 95 items to roughly 150, and the shop plans to close next Monday through next Friday to wrap up work on the kitchen and interior.
Doubling down on space and service
The new layout folds in the space next door, opening up more room for the order line and sit-down dining, which regulars know is prime real estate on busy Main Street. As reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the renovation brings fresh interior design touches, neon accents and a new exterior sign to go with the extra square footage. City planning records show the expansion was approved earlier this year through a conditional-use permit, according to the Grapevine City Archives.
Menu grows by more than half
Weinberger says the new menu will jump from about 95 offerings to roughly 150, including at least five new club sandwiches and a slate of 27 custom creations that will be highlighted on a new "celebrity" wall, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. "We're trying everything we can to put out handcrafted artisan sandwiches quickly, and more correctly than quickly. I'd rather be more correct on the sandwich," Weinberger told the paper. The deli will pause service from next Monday to next Friday while crews finish the kitchen overhaul and install new technology aimed at speeding up orders without cutting corners.
A Main Street staple gets a refresh
Open since 2002, Weinberger's has built its reputation on big, inventive sandwiches, many of them named after regulars and local personalities. The deli introduced the Papa Leo sandwich in May 2025 to honor an owner's childhood classmate who later became Pope Leo XIV, as reported by CBS News Texas.
