
A late-night motorcycle crash in West Englewood left a 36-year-old rider dead and a 9-year-old girl critically injured on the South Side, according to Chicago police. The collision happened around 11:20 p.m. Friday in the 6700 block of South Damen Avenue, when the motorcycle collided with a southbound SUV. The rider, a 36-year-old woman, suffered critical injuries and was later pronounced dead at a hospital, while the girl remained in critical condition. The two men inside the SUV were not hurt.
According to WGN-TV, officers from the Chicago Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and opened an inquiry into what led up to the crash.
