West Seattle is about to swap traffic for tunes as the three-day Summer Fest rolls back into The Junction next weekend, July 10-12, with Summer Fest Eve setup on Thursday, July 9. Key blocks of California Avenue will shut down for live music, a sprawling vendor market and an expanded Kids Zone that brings back the foam party and a large slide.
According to West Seattle Summer Fest, festival hours are Friday 1pm–8pm, Saturday 10am–8pm and Sunday 10am–5pm, with the main stage and beer garden staying open later on Friday and Saturday. The official site also posts the 2026 lineup and a map that highlights stages, restroom locations and bike parking.
Music, vendors and street closures
The music schedule leans on big headline sets Friday and Saturday nights, backed up by smaller street-corner performances across all three days. As reported by Westside Seattle, organizers expect more than 160 vendors and food trucks this year and are rolling out a zero-waste effort that requires reusable serviceware and offers water-refill stations.
That preview also spells out the planned street closures: California Ave SW from SW Genesee to SW Edmunds, plus stretches of SW Alaska and SW Oregon. Drivers are being urged to map out alternate routes before heading toward The Junction.
Kids Zone and family details
The Kids Zone is getting a bigger footprint this year, with multiple inflatables, an obstacle course, a giant slide and the returning foam party, along with free hands-on and STEM activities for younger visitors. Per the festival's Kids Zone page, parents can buy a $20 all-day wristband in advance to access paid inflatable attractions; wristbands are purchased online and picked up at the kids ticket booth during the festival.
The foam party will be staged near Junction Plaza Park, giving families an easy landmark to use as a meeting spot once the kids are sufficiently soaked and worn out.
Summer Fest Eve and how to get there
Summer Fest Eve - when Junction streets fill with pop-up patios, early music and setup activity - is set for Thursday, July 9, according to the West Seattle Junction Association. West Seattle Blog also reports that the festival footprint has been stretched this year to include the Oregon and California intersection, opening space for more retail stalls and street-level programming.
Plan ahead
Big crowds and tight parking are a given, so organizers and longtime attendees suggest skipping the car whenever possible and hopping on the C‑Line bus, the West Seattle Water Taxi or a bike. A recent Rock Walk fundraiser helped underwrite the festival's enhanced music lineup, as Westside Seattle noted, and volunteers are still being recruited for Kids Zone shifts and gate duties.
For maps, vendor lists and the latest on sustainability rules, organizers are nudging visitors to check the Junction and festival pages before they head out.
