The money is earmarked to support the new cancer center and patient services, as construction pushes ahead on a multi-building overhaul hospital leaders say will modernize care for the surrounding neighborhoods.

Community West Foundation announced the commitment on its website, noting that the gift reflects donor priorities and will support programs and facility needs tied to the new cancer center, according to Community West Foundation. The overall project is expected to run about $265 million and will replace aging portions of the Fairview campus, Crain's Cleveland Business reported.

The expansion calls for a new Moll Cancer Center, a medical office building and a parking garage, and construction crews recently raised one of the last steel beams during a topping-out ceremony. In a newsroom update, the health system said the new buildings are expected to open in July 2027 and emphasized that the design came together with input from nearby residents, according to Cleveland Clinic.
Neighbors, parking and green space
City filings and local reporting show the new cancer center and medical office building would total about 169,521 square feet and sit next to a roughly 995-space parking garage, with plans that include a pedestrian bridge and additional green space. The documents outline sustainability measures that range from electric-vehicle infrastructure to a 1-for-1 tree replacement plan, and they detail a phased demolition of the existing Moll Center so patients continue to have uninterrupted access to care, according to News 5 Cleveland.
Foundation role and fundraising history
Community West Foundation has a long track record with Fairview and Lutheran hospitals, and its site notes that more than $2 million has been directed to those facilities through grants and events over the years. Signature fundraisers such as Gift of Life and Triumph for the Cure channel proceeds into patient services and community-focused programs, according to Community West Foundation.
