A new 7 Brew coffee stand is headed for 11982 Alamo Ranch Pkwy in San Antonio, with filings pegging the project cost at $1 million and construction slated to begin September 1. The 560-square-foot drive-thru-only shop will rise on privately funded, privately owned land, and builders expect the work to wrap by January 15, 2027, though no exact opening date has been announced.
The project, listed in permitting records as 7Brew Coffee Shop Alamo Ranch, will undergo ground-up construction, according to filings reported by WhatNow. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has received filings for the project, and it marks another addition to a metro area where the chain has moved fast since first arriving in 2023. As My Neighborhood News reports, the Alamo Ranch site lands amid a simultaneous burst of Bexar County filings and locations that includes Wurzbach Road near the Colonnade, De Zavala Road, Marbach Road, Rittiman Road, and Universal City.
A Milestone Stand Already on the Map
San Antonio has already earned a starring role in 7 Brew's national story. The company opened its 777th drive-thru stand nationwide at 9219 Potranco Road in June, according to Fast Casual, cementing the city as a centerpiece market for the chain's rollout. The Alamo Ranch stand would sit not far from that milestone location, adding yet another pad site to a corridor where the brand's neon-lit stands are becoming a familiar sight.
7 Brew traces back to an entrepreneurial group that purchased the company on January 7, 2020, when it had grown to just seven stands. Brew Culture LLC now operates the chain, which was founded in 2017 in Northwest Arkansas and, per the company, has expanded to more than 800 stands across 38 states with more than 45,000 Brew Crew members.
Alamo Ranch's Rooftop Boom Fuels the Rush
The push into Alamo Ranch is no accident. Census data cited by the San Antonio Report shows the 78253 ZIP code's population grew by more than 65% since 2020 to reach 69,282 residents, making the area San Antonio's primary engine of suburban rooftop growth. That surge has come with a cost: traffic along Alamo Ranch Parkway has intensified alongside the residential boom, and the same outlet reports that Bexar County officials plan to build a new six-lane elevated roadway along the corridor to relieve the congestion.
The company's expansion machine runs on serious capital. Nation's Restaurant News reported in December 2025 that Flynn Group, described as the world's largest franchisee, agreed to open 160 7 Brew locations over seven years — its first move into the emerging drive-thru coffee category. Blackstone Growth also made a growth equity investment in the chain in February 2024, according to Nasdaq, helping push 7 Brew's valuation past $1 billion.
Drive-Thru-Only Format Built for Speed
7 Brew is a drive-thru-only concept built around customized, handcrafted drinks and quick service, with a menu spanning seven categories — featured drinks, 7 Originals, 7 Classics, chai, and matcha, along with coffees, 7 Energy drinks, 7 Fizz sodas, teas, lemonades, smoothies, and shakes — for more than 20,000 possible combinations. The double-lane format relies on roughly 510-to-600-square-foot modular stands, with employees taking orders on hand-held tablets directly in the lane rather than through traditional speaker boxes, according to Built In. The Alamo Ranch stand's 560-square-foot footprint fits that mold.
The company recently shifted a major piece of its ordering model. Business Wire reported in August 2026 that 7 Brew launched its first mobile ordering app, ending a nearly decade-long in-person-only approach and adding order-ahead capability, digital rewards, and mobile access to its secret menu items.
How the Numbers Stack Up Against Rivals
Mature 7 Brew stands averaged $2.658 million in annual sales in 2025, according to franchise disclosure documents reported by The Business Journal, outpacing average per-unit sales at Dutch Bros ($2.16 million) and Starbucks ($1.9 million). That growth has placed 7 Brew in direct competition with Dutch Bros, which operates nearly 1,200 locations nationwide, Restaurant Dive reports, as both chains lean on double drive-thru lanes and high-speed customer interaction to move cars quickly.
Beyond the sales figures, the company points to its community giving as part of its identity. 7 Brew says its Brew Crew serves customers while participating in community efforts tied to the company's stated mission of cultivating kindness, and the company reports it has donated more than five million drinks and more than $1.3 million to community organizations.
For now, the Alamo Ranch project remains in the pre-construction phase, with groundbreaking expected September 1 and completion targeted for January 15, 2027. Whether the new stand will ease or add to congestion along a parkway already slated for a six-lane overhaul remains an open question for commuters watching Far West San Antonio's growth reshape the corridor.
