Powell is about to get another excuse to join a drive-thru line: 7 Brew Coffee is planning a new stand in town, with a tentative opening date set for September 21. The planned arrival would add another fast-service beverage option to the northwest side of the Columbus area.
According to What Now Columbus, the drive-thru stand is planned along Powell Road and is tentatively scheduled to open September 21, 2026. Rick Nader, president of Motley 7 Brew, confirmed that his franchise group is behind the project but declined to provide additional details.
Motley 7 Brew Is Still Expanding Across Ohio
The Powell project is part of a broader push by the franchise group, which says on its company website that it now operates 17 Ohio locations. Meanwhile, 7 Brew’s Ohio directory lists stands in Columbus and communities ranging from Cincinnati to Toledo, suggesting the Powell opening is not an isolated local play.
For the drink menu, 7 Brew’s corporate overview says the brand serves coffees, 7 Energy drinks, fizz sodas, teas, lemonades, smoothies and shakes, with more than 20,000 possible combinations. The company also says it has grown to more than 700 stands in 38 states, a scale that helps explain why another Ohio location can appear before the last one has even finished becoming somebody’s morning ritual.
Opening Details Are Still Brewing
The September 21 date remains tentative, and details such as hours, the final stand design and job postings have not been announced. What Now Columbus reported that it had asked whether hiring had begun and what customers should expect, but the franchise owner did not share more project information.
If the schedule holds, Powell customers could be pulling into the new drive-thru before fall is fully underway. For now, the clearest public milestone is the tentative September 21 opening date.
