An Anderson County Sheriff's Office deputy was taken to a hospital Friday after being involved in a crash while driving a patrol car, officials say. The wreck happened around noon at Whitehall Road and Pearman Dairy Road in Anderson County, a stretch of roadway with a long history of serious collisions.
The crash and the deputy's hospitalization were reported by WYFF4. According to the outlet, the South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Neither the deputy's name, condition, nor the circumstances that led to the collision have been released.

Further back, a March three-vehicle collision at the same intersection killed a man who suffered traumatic brain injuries and was taken to a local hospital, per the Joye Law Firm.
