A Corridor With a History of Violence
Ashley Avenue sits in South Anderson near the Homeland Park community. East Shockley Ferry Road, which connects to Ashley Avenue, has seen violence before: the Anderson County Coroner's Office recorded a fatal shooting there in February 2024, when 47-year-old Reginald Lamont Boggs died from multiple gunshot wounds after an altercation involving multiple individuals, coroner officials confirmed.
Saturday's shooting also lands in the middle of a string of violent incidents Anderson County deputies have handled this summer. Just six days earlier, deputies responded to a reported shooting at Louie's Bar and Grill on Electric City Boulevard following emergency calls that came in around 4:20 p.m. On August 22, a deputy was involved in a shooting on Bradberry Road after a woman reportedly opened fire on the deputy during a confrontation, Sheriff Chad McBride said in a report from WSPA-TV.
