Roland Park has a new child care option for Baltimore families, with a Kiddie Academy opening that can serve 163 children and create roughly 50 local jobs. The center is designed for children from 6 weeks through age 5, placing infant care, preschool, and early-learning classrooms under one roof.
The 11,000-square-foot facility held an open house on July 25 and is owned and operated by Sherry Sun. According to the Maryland Daily Record, the opening makes the Roland Park site the 14th Kiddie Academy in the greater Baltimore region.
The center includes 13 classrooms, an outdoor playground and a bike track, along with live camera access for families. The academy’s official Roland Park website also lists Spanish and Chinese language classes among its offerings.
A Second Academy Is Coming To Gambrills
The Baltimore opening arrives as Kiddie Academy expands elsewhere in the region. A second location in Gambrills held a groundbreaking celebration on July 30, with the Daily Record reporting that the future center will serve roughly 191 children ages 6 weeks to 12 years and is expected to add another 50 jobs.
Owned by Abisola and Adebayo Elabanjo, the planned Gambrills center will span 15,000 square feet and include 14 classrooms, an indoor play area, a SplashPad and a VersaCourt for basketball and soccer. The project’s location at 909 Saint Stephens Church Road was first reported by Patch, which said the owners acquired about three acres with permits and site improvements already in place.
The two Maryland projects are part of a broader franchise push by Kiddie Academy, whose corporate site listed Gambrills among the brand’s 2026 first-quarter groundbreakings. For Baltimore-area parents, the more immediate development is the Roland Park center’s added capacity for babies, toddlers and preschoolers at a time when finding child care can require planning well before a child’s first day.
