A national music education franchise is setting up shop just off the Liberty Hill-Georgetown border, with state filings showing a $250,000 renovation project already underway inside a busy new commercial park. Bach to Rock plans to open a 1,797-square-foot location at 2021 Kauffman Loop, with building renovations expected to wrap up in November 2026.
The project surfaced in a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which received documentation about the Bach to Rock music school build-out, as reported by Community Impact. State plan review for the 1,797-square-foot commercial renovation was completed in July 2026, according to project data tracked by Zabalist, which put the estimated construction cost at $250,000.
The new campus will sit inside Twelve Oaks Professional Park, a 42,729-square-foot mixed-use commercial development in Liberty Hill, per project portfolio documentation from CADRE Construction. The park has quickly filled with healthcare and specialized service tenants, including the Georgetown Center of Oral + Maxillofacial Surgery, which opened there in November 2025, Community Impact reported separately in March.
A Franchise Chain With Deep Roots and a New Owner
Bach to Rock encourages students to play the music they love rather than sticking strictly to scales and sheet music, according to the company's website. The brand already operates a location in Cedar Park and has grown to more than 50 locations across the country, per the Community Impact report. Its roots trace back to a 2002 music summer camp created by a former middle-school teacher and Juilliard-trained musician, which evolved into the Bach to Rock brand founded in Bethesda, Maryland, in 2007.
The chain recently changed hands at the corporate level. Youth enrichment holding company Spark Harbor acquired Bach to Rock in June 2026 from Cambridge Information Group, taking on ownership of its 57 nationwide locations along with a development pipeline of 10 additional units, according to trade publication FranchiseWire. Franchise financial disclosures reviewed by Entrepreneur.com indicate that opening a new Bach to Rock location typically requires a total initial investment between $350,000 and $510,000, including a minimum liquid capital requirement of $100,000.
Liberty Hill's Border Boom Keeps Building
The Liberty Hill music school is landing in one of the fastest-changing corners of Williamson County. U.S. Census Bureau estimates show Liberty Hill's population reached approximately 13,317 residents by 2025, an increase of more than 260% from the 3,646 residents counted in 2020. That surge has fueled demand for youth enrichment, healthcare, and retail services across the area.
The scale of that building boom shows up in the numbers: commercial development tracking data from August 2026 counted 367 state-registered construction projects worth a combined $1.59 billion across the Liberty Hill market, per Zabalist. Williamson County was already ranked the third fastest-growing county in Texas over the 2010-2020 decade, a trend that prompted county officials to launch the Corridor I-2 preservation study connecting US 183 and SH 29, according to Williamson County Government planning documents.
National retailers have taken notice of the corridor too. A 152,000-square-foot Costco opened on US 183 in March, and a 25,000-square-foot T.J. Maxx is planned for Liberty Hill Crossing this summer. That retail push follows other recent additions along Highway 29 and a 320-unit apartment complex that landed nearby earlier this year, underscoring how quickly the Liberty Hill-Georgetown border is filling in with both rooftops and storefronts.
For now, the specifics of who will operate the new Bach to Rock franchise and how the surrounding roadways will absorb the added traffic remain open questions, tied to the same infrastructure planning already underway along US 183 and Highway 29. Construction on the Kauffman Loop site is expected to continue toward its November completion target.
