A fire tore through the first floor of a Baltimore apartment building Saturday, sending flames through multiple windows and heavy smoke into the sky. One person was injured as firefighters worked to keep the blaze from spreading through the rest of the building.
The fire broke out shortly after noon in the 200 block of Beale Court, where crews found heavy fire showing from the first floor of a two-story, low-rise apartment building, according to Daily Voice. Photos released from the scene showed flames pushing out of several windows and climbing along the building’s exterior.
One Person Taken To Hospital
The injured person was taken to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation. Officials have not released details about the person’s condition, and no firefighters were reported hurt.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control before it could spread farther through the apartment building, but the cause remained unknown Saturday. The Baltimore City Fire Department said the fire’s origin was still under investigation.
