Thursday Storms Could Bring Heavy Rain
The pattern changes Thursday, when showers and thunderstorms are expected from the morning into the afternoon. The National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington puts the rain chance near 80% and says some storms could drop heavy rain, with three-quarters of an inch to 1 inch possible.
Storms are most likely between roughly 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., though showers and thunderstorms could linger into Thursday night. Forecasters say a few storms could become strong to severe, with damaging wind gusts, hail or an isolated tornado possible, while the current severe-weather risk remains marginal.
Weekend Stays Unsettled Before A Drier Turn
Friday should be mostly sunny with a high near 84 and only a slight chance of showers after 2 p.m. Shower and thunderstorm chances rise again Friday night and continue Saturday, when skies will be mostly cloudy and temperatures will reach the mid-80s.
Sunday brings a smaller chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high near 86. Conditions look sunnier and less humid Monday and Tuesday, with highs near 85 and overnight lows dipping into the upper 60s.
Outdoor Plans Look Fine Wednesday, Less Certain Thursday
