According to WMAR 2 News, the report arrived Monday as the Orioles continued remaking a roster that had been sitting on the playoff bubble. Baltimore had already dealt pitcher Dean Kremer and outfielder Taylor Ward, but moving Rutschman would be the clear blockbuster — and the club has not disclosed what it would receive in return.
Rutschman, 28, is in his fifth major league season and has made three All-Star teams since Baltimore selected him first overall in the 2019 draft. He is hitting .251 with eight home runs and 47 RBIs in 2026, but he is currently on the injured list with a left wrist issue and must pass a physical before the reported deal can become official, MLB.com reported.
