Las Vegas police are asking for help identifying a bearded man accused of trying to rob a business near South Jones Boulevard, with investigators releasing a physical description nearly three months after the incident. The attempted robbery happened in the southwest valley during the afternoon of May 5, according to police.
KSNV reported that the incident occurred at about 3:55 p.m. near the 4000 block of South Jones Boulevard. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is handling the case through its Commercial Robbery Section.
The suspect is described in an LVMPD bulletin as a white man between 30 and 50 years old with a medium-to-heavy build. Police estimate he is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs between 180 and 200 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes and a full beard.
Police Ask For Tips
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the attempted robbery can contact the LVMPD Commercial Robbery Section at (702) 828-3591. Police told KSNV that anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or through its website, and information leading directly to an arrest or indictment may qualify for a cash reward.
No suspect has been publicly identified in connection with the case, and police have not announced an arrest. Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward rather than approach the person themselves.
