A 62-year-old Bensalem school bus aide is facing child-related charges after police say he touched a 14-year-old student with special needs during rides to an extended school year program. Investigators say the alleged contact happened on consecutive days and was captured on the bus's surveillance system.
Ali Khan was arrested after the student's parents contacted police last Thursday, according to FOX 29 Philadelphia. Khan worked as an aide for Bensalem High School's extended school year program and is accused of touching the student's leg and inner-thigh area while she was traveling to school.
Police Say A Phone And Bus Camera Recorded The Allegations
Investigators reportedly said the school bus video showed the alleged contact, while Khan allegedly used his cellphone to record the encounter and take photos of the student. Those details are allegations in an active criminal case, not findings of guilt.
Khan is charged with indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child and corruption of minors. He was taken to Bucks County Correctional Facility and held on 10% of $500,000 bail, FOX 29 Philadelphia reported.
Police Ask Whether Other Students May Have Been Victimized
Bensalem police are asking anyone who believes Khan may have victimized them or their child to come forward. The department and Bensalem School District said student safety and well-being remain their top priority as the investigation continues.
