Aurora police were investigating a death near East Colfax Avenue on Tuesday after responding to a report of a deceased person, with few details released about what happened. The department’s initial message did not identify the person or explain the circumstances.
In a brief post on X, the Aurora Police Department said officers were responding to a deceased person and remained on scene investigating, adding that more information would be shared when available. A location referenced in the exchange placed the response near Idalia Street, just south of East Colfax Avenue.
What Police Have Not Said
Police have not disclosed the person’s identity, cause of death or manner of death. The initial update also did not say whether detectives suspect foul play, whether anyone has been arrested or whether the response was tied to a traffic crash or medical emergency.
