Rain chances remain relatively low during the day at about 20%, but windward and mauka neighborhoods are the most likely to see a passing shower. Most of the city should get plenty of sunshine, though exposed shorelines and ridgelines may feel noticeably gusty.
Showers Become More Likely At Night
Sunday night turns more unsettled, with scattered showers, mostly cloudy skies and a low near 77 degrees. The chance of rain rises to about 40%, and a few spots could pick up less than a tenth of an inch.
The broader outlook stays warm and breezy into next week. According to the National Weather Service in Honolulu, trade winds should gradually ease Monday through Thursday, while increasing moisture could bring more frequent showers to windward and mauka areas by midweek.
Choppy East Shores And Boating Advisories
East-facing beaches will remain rough and choppy Sunday as strong trade-wind waves combine with a small easterly swell. South-shore surf is expected to stay below seasonal averages, while north- and west-facing shores remain mostly flat to tiny.
Boaters should check conditions before heading out: a Small Craft Advisory was scheduled to remain in effect for several Oahu waters through 6 a.m. Sunday, with additional advisories continuing into Monday for portions of Maui County and the Big Island.
