Tickets are now available for BrickCon's 25th anniversary convention, set for September 12-13, 2026, at Bellevue's Meydenbauer Center. Organizers say the milestone event will showcase hundreds of original adult-built creations alongside an open play area, a mosaic building wall, and all-day LEGO robot battles at the Bot Box.
The convention, which organizers bill as the longest-running LEGO fan convention in the world, has adopted the theme “Level 25 Unlocked!” for this year's event, according to FOX 13 Seattle. Steve Walker, executive director of BrickCon, said no other LEGO convention in the world has reached the 25-year milestone, and he welcomed families and LEGO fans to help celebrate. Walker also said special surprise guests will attend, though organizers have not named them ahead of the event.
Ticket Prices and Staggered Entry Times
Entry blocks starting before 3 p.m. cost $19, while the last entry block, beginning at 3 p.m., is priced at $17, per the same report. On Saturday, September 12, organizers said entry times are staggered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Meydenbauer Center, while Sunday, September 13 entry times run in staggered blocks from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ticket proceeds go toward the BrickCon Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting STEAM skills in children.
The convention is produced and run locally by volunteers, and adult builders will showcase hundreds of original creations at the Bellevue venue on September 12. Vendors selling sets and minifigures will also be on hand, giving attendees a chance to shop alongside the custom exhibits.
From a Seattle Center Meetup to a Regional Institution
BrickCon's roots stretch back to 2002, when it debuted as NorthWest BrickCon at the Seattle Center House with just 48 adult builders displaying models for crowds of 3,000 to 5,000 visitors, according to the BrickCon Foundation. The event spent 16 years at Seattle Center before relocating across Lake Washington to the Meydenbauer Center in 2023 to accommodate growing demand from builders, vendors, and attendees. That move paid off almost immediately: BrickCon's 2023 Bellevue debut drew 541 registered convention attendees and more than 10,000 public visitors who came to view roughly 800 custom-built models, as GeekWire reported at the time, with displays spanning categories including Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Art, and Town & Country.
Every model on the convention floor is an original fan design, and GeekWire's reporting notes that builders are barred from using glue, adhesives, or pre-packaged commercial set instructions — the creations rely purely on brick geometry and gravity to hold together. Direct management of BrickCon officially shifted to the BrickCon Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, starting with the 2024 convention, a transition that ties ticket sales directly to the foundation's STEAM education outreach.
Independent From LEGO, but Not Without Star Power
Although BrickCon draws guest appearances from LEGO Group staff and contestants from the television series LEGO Masters, the convention is run independently and is not owned or operated by the LEGO Group, according to Wikipedia. For builders who can't make the trip to Bellevue, a $25 virtual convention registration option gives remote adult builders access to presentations, games, and digital display submissions through Zoom and Discord, per the LEGO Ambassador Network.
This year's theme continues a tradition of annual identities that shape what builders bring to the show, following “Full STEAM Ahead” in 2025, “Foundations” in 2024, “Journeys” in 2023, and “21, Time for Fun” in 2022. In past years, volunteers have even produced limited-edition custom sets for attendees using officially sourced parts, including a 492-piece mini replica of the Meydenbauer Center built in a run of 250 sets for the 2023 convention, according to the BrickCon Blog. With a quarter-century of history now behind it, BrickCon's 2026 return to Bellevue frames the anniversary weekend as both a nostalgic checkpoint and a fundraising engine for the STEAM programs the foundation supports.
