Two Bronx teenagers were slashed aboard a BX42 bus last Wednesday afternoon, and the attacker vanished before police could identify them. A 15-year-old was cut on the face and a 16-year-old was slashed on the arm near Park Avenue and East 180th Street, according to police.
The attack happened at about 2:47 p.m., when an unidentified individual allegedly used a sharp object against both teens before fleeing in an unknown direction. The details were released in a Tuesday alert from NYPD Crime Stoppers, which is asking riders and witnesses to come forward.
NYPD Crime Stoppers is offering up to $3,500 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment. Bronx Bus Slashings Have Drawn Recent Police Attention
The alert follows other reported slashings involving Bronx buses and bus stops this year, though police have not indicated that the incidents are connected. In June, a 23-year-old man was slashed in the face aboard a Bx2 bus in Concourse Village, News 12 reported, while a 16-year-old was arrested after an earlier bus-stop attack that injured an 18-year-old, the outlet reported in March.
