A 72-year-old woman in the Bronx was approached by a person on a motorized scooter last Wednesday afternoon, who allegedly grabbed a chain and rosary beads from around her neck before fleeing. The robbery happened in broad daylight, leaving investigators looking for help identifying the person responsible.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:25 p.m. in front of 1256 Croes Avenue within the NYPD's 43rd Precinct, according to an alert from NYPD Crime Stoppers. The alert describes the individual as unidentified and says the person fled to parts unknown.

Anyone with information can contact NYPD Crime Stoppers anonymously by calling 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), submitting a tip through the department's Crime Stoppers program, or contacting @NYPDTips on X. Spanish-speaking callers can use 1-888-57-PISTA (74782), and a tip leading to an arrest and indictment may qualify for a reward of up to $3,500.
The 43rd Precinct serves the southeast section of the Bronx, including neighborhoods around Westchester Avenue, Castle Hill Avenue, White Plains Road and Parkchester, according to the NYPD's precinct page. Police have not publicly identified a suspect or announced an arrest in connection with the Croes Avenue robbery.
