Police are asking New Yorkers to help identify a man accused of exposing himself to a 14-year-old boy on a Bronx subway platform, with a cash reward now on the table. The early-morning incident happened at Fordham Road station, where the suspect allegedly fled and left police without a name. No injuries were reported.
Police Say The Incident Happened Before Dawn
According to a NYPD Crime Stoppers post published Tuesday, the incident occurred on June 18 at approximately 1:39 a.m. on the southbound platform at Fordham Road subway station, within the confines of the 46th Precinct. The post says an unidentified male exposed himself to a 14-year-old male victim before fleeing in an unknown direction.
The public appeal came nearly seven weeks after the alleged incident. It does not identify the man by name or announce an arrest, leaving the case at the public-tip stage.
Tips Can Be Submitted Without Giving A Name
The NYPD Crime Stoppers program says anonymous information leading to the arrest and indictment of a violent felon can qualify for a reward of up to $3,500. The Fordham Road appeal asks anyone with information to call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or send a direct message to @NYPDTips.
For people worried about being identified, the department’s victim-services FAQ says Crime Stoppers tips are anonymous and that phone numbers, email addresses and IP addresses are not captured, tracked or saved. The agency has not publicly identified a suspect in the Fordham Road case.
