A Saturday-night walk has turned into an urgent search in Brookfield, where police are asking residents to watch for 78-year-old Douglas Dunning after a Silver Alert was issued Sunday.
Dunning was last seen leaving his Brookfield home for a walk, according to FOX6 Milwaukee. He is described as a white man who is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 161 pounds, with brown eyes and balding brown hair; he was wearing a long-sleeved burgundy polo shirt, gray slacks and white Nike tennis shoes.
Police Ask Brookfield Residents To Keep Watch
Anyone with information about Dunning’s whereabouts is asked to contact the City of Brookfield Police Department at 262-787-3702. Residents who spot someone matching his description should avoid putting themselves at risk and contact police immediately.
Wisconsin’s Silver Alert program is intended for missing people age 60 and older who are believed to have Alzheimer’s, dementia or another permanent cognitive impairment that could threaten their health or safety, according to the Wisconsin Department of Justice. The state says qualifying alerts can be distributed through text and email notifications, wireless emergency alerts, digital billboards, highway message boards and lottery terminals.
