An unidentified person is being sought after police say they entered a Brooklyn mosque late June 21 and stole a 69-year-old man's cellphone and wallet. The NYPD is publicizing the case now, more than a month later, with a Crime Stoppers appeal for information.
According to a Friday wanted bulletin from NYPD Crime Stoppers, the individual entered the mosque at approximately 10:24 p.m. in the 70th Precinct. Police say the items were taken from a changing room before the person fled.

The suspect reportedly ran southbound on Coney Island Avenue and continued to parts unknown, according to the bulletin. No suspect name was released, and the NYPD described the case as a burglary investigation.

Anyone with information can call the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), submit a tip online, or send information through the department's official tips account. The NYPD Crime Stoppers program says anonymous information leading to an arrest and indictment may qualify for a reward of up to $3,500.
Tips can also be provided in Spanish at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The investigation is being handled within the 70th Precinct, which covers parts of central Brooklyn including Midwood, Fiske Terrace, Ditmas Park and Prospect Park South.
