Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is once again turning its walkways into an open-air food hall, bringing back Bier Fest Brews & BBQ with a lineup that swaps traditional Oktoberfest fare for pork bao buns, gochujang grilled lamb chops and Nashville hot street corn. The Oktoberfest-inspired festival runs Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day through September 7, with more than 60 beverages pouring alongside the new international menu.
The 2026 edition features a new international-inspired food lineup, according to WFTV, with dishes ranging from smoked duck sliders and brisket burnt end stuffed potato balls to sticky pork pops finished with brown sugar sriracha barbecue sauce. Bourbon pineapple and pork skewers, Thai chili peanut butter and jelly glazed pork wings, and smoked honey chipotle chicken sliders round out a menu built for grazing rather than a sit-down meal. Sampler packages start at $40 for five items, with an eight-item sampler also on offer; annual pass members can buy an exclusive 10-item sampler for the price of the eight-item version, per the outlet's reporting.
Themed Cabins Bring the World to Tampa
The festival organizes its food into themed culinary stations this year, including the Out of the Box Cabin, Smokin Samurai Cabin, Mis Amigos Cabin and The Tipsy Bird Cabin, according to Q105. Each cabin leans into a distinct flavor profile, from Asian-inspired bao to Latin-inspired plates. Guests looking to skip meat aren't left out either — the Mis Amigos Cabin serves beer-braised grilled cauliflower steak and stuffed jackfruit baby bell peppers alongside street corn, the station reports.
On the drink side, the festival rotates 30 to 40 beverage options each weekend from a pool of more than 40 breweries, according to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Florida producers like BarrieHaus Brewing, Leaven Brewing, Escape Brewing, 3 Daughters Brewing and Magnanimous Brewing are in the mix, and WFTV separately reports new pours this year from South Beach Brewing Company, Florida Avenue Brewing and Wild Rover Brewing. Beers, ciders, sours, wines and moonshine are all part of the more-than-60-beverage lineup, and guests must be 21 or older to drink.
Beer Day Tie-In and Festival Extras
Busch Gardens folded an International Beer Day celebration into the festival on August 8, featuring local brewery tastings and a Stein Holding Contest at Helga's Biergarten capped at 50 registered participants. Bier Fest also includes live music at Helga's Bier Garten and Oktoberfest-inspired games, and the Wild Skies drone show will continue on select dates during the festival, per Busch Gardens. Bier Fest Brews & BBQ is included with regular park admission, running from 2 p.m. until park close on festival days.
The event traces back to August 2018, when Busch Gardens first launched Bier Fest by blending traditional Oktoberfest elements with Tampa Bay's craft beer scene, debuting with more than 100 brews from 65 breweries worldwide, according to Orlando Weekly. The concept was designed to spotlight local craft breweries while nodding to the park's hospitality roots — Busch Gardens opened in 1959 as an Anheuser-Busch brewery tour and hospitality facility that once offered free beer gardens, a legacy the park occasionally revives with temporary complimentary beer promotions during summer events.
A Festival Amid a Bigger Park Overhaul
Bier Fest's return lands alongside a much larger transformation underway at the Tampa park. The festival opened just weeks after the July 25 debut of Lion & Hyena Ridge, a new 35,000-square-foot savanna habitat billed as housing North America's largest coalition of lions in an AZA-accredited facility, as reported by WKMG ClickOrlando. That habitat is part of a $200 million, five-year park transformation plan — a buildout Hoodline has tracked as it opened and one that has also brought new leadership to the park this year.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay's parent company changed its corporate name from SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. to United Parks & Resorts Inc. in February 2024, and now trades on the NYSE under the ticker PRKS, though the individual park names were left unchanged. To help drive traffic during the back-to-school stretch, the park is also offering a $55 single-day ticket promotion valid through September 30, along with a 2027 Fun Card deal that includes the remainder of 2026 and free access to Adventure Island water park.
