People along Lake Chelan’s south shore were told to leave immediately Sunday after the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office issued a Level 3 fire evacuation order. The warning covers South Lake Shore Road from 25 Mile Creek to Fields Point, putting a long stretch of shoreline and its campgrounds under the county’s “Get Out Now!” alert.
According to Chelan County Emergency Management, the Level 3 zone also includes the south shoreline from Pyramid Creek up to 25 Mile Creek and all campgrounds in that section. Areas south of Fields Point remain under lower alerts: Level 2 runs to Kelly’s Bypass Road, while Level 1 extends to State Route 971.
In a Sunday update, Gov. Bob Ferguson said conditions represented a “specific and immediate threat to the life and safety” of people inside the affected area. Residents in the zone were directed to monitor Chelan County Emergency Management’s Facebook page, the county incident map and local radio stations for changes.
Level 3 Means Leave Now
Chelan County’s evacuation guide defines Level 3 as “Go” and says residents should evacuate promptly when advised. The same guidance says people at Level 2 should leave if they feel unsafe or need extra time for children, pets or large animals—an especially important distinction along a remote lakeshore corridor.

The Emergency Incidents Map lets residents enter an address to see the evacuation level assigned to that location. The county’s active-emergencies page also lists an incident phone line, 509-776-6953, and email, [email protected], for questions about the Little Giant Fire.
Because wildfire orders can shift quickly, Sunday’s boundaries should not be treated as a permanent road map. Anyone in or near the affected area should follow the latest official order, avoid delaying departure and leave routes clear for emergency crews.
