Showers and thunderstorms could develop after 3 p.m., with a 30% chance of rain through the afternoon and evening. The National Weather Service says a few storms could produce damaging wind gusts, while slow-moving downpours may cause isolated flash flooding.
Heat Builds Before The Storm Window
The hottest stretch arrives during the midafternoon, when the heat index could reach 102 degrees. A light west-southwest wind near 5 mph will offer little relief, so people heading outside should bring water, take breaks and avoid lingering in exposed areas during peak heat.
Storm coverage should fade after sunset, with the best chance of rain ending before 8 p.m. Sunday night will turn partly cloudy, with a low around 74 degrees and another chance for a brief shower or thunderstorm before the evening settles down.
Another Hot Stretch Arrives Monday
Monday will bring mostly sunny skies, a high near 93 and a heat index as high as 103, with only a slight chance of a late-afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Tuesday through Thursday look hotter and mostly dry, with sunny or mostly sunny skies and highs near 95 each day.
Rain chances return Friday afternoon, when the high should reach 92, followed by another chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday after 2 p.m. Saturday will be slightly cooler, but still warm, with a high near 90.
