Clouds Fade, But Not Completely
Clouds are expected to linger through the morning before breaking into partly sunny skies late in the morning and afternoon. The National Weather Service says the marine layer, or low coastal cloud deck, should shrink across Southern California through the weekend, with morning clouds increasingly limited to the coast and lower valleys.
Friday night turns mostly cloudy again, with a low near 64 and a south-southwest wind of up to 10 mph. Saturday should be mostly sunny and a little warmer at 83, while Sunday holds near 83 with no meaningful rain chance.
Warmup Arrives Next Week
Temperatures climb to about 85 Monday, then 87 Tuesday and Wednesday under mostly sunny to sunny skies. Thursday stays sunny with a high near 86, and overnight lows remain in the mid-60s, so the bigger shift is a steady daytime warmup rather than a dramatic blast of heat.
No watches or warnings are in effect for the Downtown LA forecast area. For Friday plans, light layers should help during the cloudy morning, while sunscreen and water will be useful once the afternoon sun breaks through.
