A homicide investigation is underway in Charlotte’s North Division, though police have released few details about what happened or where investigators are working. The case was announced early Sunday as the department urged residents to rely on official channels for updates.
CMPD Has Not Released Victim Or Scene Details
In a post from its official X account, CMPD News said detectives are conducting a homicide investigation in the North Division. The initial alert did not identify a victim, provide a specific location, describe the circumstances or name a suspect.
The investigation remains active, and additional information may be released as detectives establish what led to the death. No further case details were included in the department’s initial announcement.
Police Remind Residents Which Number To Call
CMPD said its social-media account is not monitored around the clock. Residents should call 911 for emergencies and use 311 for non-emergency matters, according to the department’s advisory.
