Heavy Rain Threat Builds Saturday Night
Showers and thunderstorms are likely Saturday night, with a 90% chance of precipitation and temperatures settling near 72 degrees. Storms are expected before 10 p.m., continuing at times through the overnight hours, and rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches are possible.
The greatest concern is repeated thunderstorms over the same locations, which can quickly overwhelm drainage systems. Avoid flooded underpasses and low-lying roads, and never drive through water if its depth is unclear.
Another Storm Round Sunday Before Cooler Weather
Sunday will be warm again, reaching about 88 degrees, with thunderstorms possible from morning through evening. West winds will increase to 6 to 12 mph, with gusts up to 23 mph, and the chance of rain rises to 70% as a cold front approaches.
That front should bring a noticeable change early next week. Monday looks mostly sunny with a high near 82, followed by a sunny Tuesday near 81 and cooler, less humid nights in the lower to mid-60s.
Quieter Late Week, With More Showers Possible
Wednesday will turn warmer again, with a high near 84 and a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Thursday brings a smaller chance of rain showers and a high near 78, while Friday looks mostly sunny with a high near 77.
