North winds will stay light through Friday, with rain chances near zero and only a little possibility of trace rainfall. Temperatures fall to around 59 Friday night, then rebound to about 84 Saturday under sunny skies, with a light east wind.
Saturday night will be partly cloudy with a low near 64. That makes for a favorable stretch for outdoor plans, with no meaningful rain expected through the weekend.
Heat Builds Into Early September
Sunday reaches about 88 degrees under mostly sunny skies, followed by highs near 91 Monday and 93 Tuesday. The National Weather Service says humidity will rise as southerly winds develop, pushing heat indices into the mid-to-upper 90s next week.
That hotter stretch is a notable update from Hoodline's Thursday forecast, which called for highs near 91 early next week. Anyone spending extended time outside Monday or Tuesday will want water, shade and a little patience with the late-summer heat.
Storm Chances Return Wednesday
Dry weather is expected to hold through Tuesday, but a chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives after 2 p.m. Wednesday. The chance of precipitation is 30%, with another 30% chance Wednesday night and a high near 93.
Thursday could bring a few rain showers before 8 a.m., followed by a slight chance of additional showers and thunderstorms as the afternoon continues. The high should still reach about 91, and no watches, warnings, or advisories are currently posted for the Columbus area.
