North Texas Cowboys fans will get two more chances to watch the team work before the regular season arrives. Dallas is bringing training camp back to Ford Center at The Star in Frisco for a pair of public practices later this month, complete with an opening ceremony, tailgate and drone show.
The Cowboys will host the events on Aug. 25 and 26, according to The Dallas Morning News. The practices will give fans a local look at a team that will close the preseason against the New Orleans Saints at AT&T Stadium two days later.
Opening Ceremony And Drone Show Set For Aug. 25
The first Frisco event will begin with an opening ceremony at 5:30 p.m., followed by a two-hour open practice from 6 to 8 p.m., according to the Cowboys' official schedule. The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are scheduled to perform, while owner and general manager Jerry Jones is expected to give remarks.
After practice, fans can head outside to Tostitos Championship Plaza for a post-practice tailgate and drone show from 8 to 9 p.m. The team says the evening will also include player appearances, another performance by the cheerleaders and a special announcement.
Aug. 26 Practice Will Be Broadcast Live
Wednesday’s Cowboys Night will feature the second open practice, also scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. The session will be broadcast live on TXA 21 and streamed through DallasCowboys.com, the Cowboys mobile app and Cowboys Now, as The Dallas Morning News notes.
The Frisco practices are the final local portion of a training camp that began in Oxnard, California, where the Cowboys are holding most of their preparation and joint practices with the Los Angeles Rams and Saints. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that Dallas planned to return to North Texas for select open practices before its Aug. 28 preseason finale.
Admission And Parking Are Free
Both practices are free and open to the public, with entry available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Tostitos Championship Plaza opens at 4 p.m., Ford Center doors open at 4:30 p.m., and parking is also free, according to the team’s training camp information.
The Cowboys will then host the Saints at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. For fans who would rather see the team before game night, the Frisco practices offer a free preview—with a drone show layered on top.
