Crash Happened Near A City-Flagged Trouble Spot
The collision occurred near a corridor that has already drawn attention in Las Vegas’ road-safety planning. The city’s 2026 Vision Zero update, using Nevada Department of Transportation crash data from 2018 through 2022, lists Sahara Avenue and Eastern Avenue among the city’s five intersections with the most fatal-or-serious-injury crashes, recording six such crashes and 130 total crashes there.
The initial account did not identify the bicyclist, the vehicle involved or a suspected cause. More details may emerge as LVMPD continues its investigation, FOX5 reported.
