The high will reach about 86 degrees, with west-southwest winds increasing to 10 mph during the afternoon. Clouds will build gradually, but rain chances remain near zero through most of the day, making Tuesday a solid bet for outdoor plans.
The National Weather Service says the better late-afternoon shower and thunderstorm chances should remain north of metro Detroit. For the city and surrounding communities, the main window arrives late Tuesday night, with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 p.m. and wind gusts up to 18 mph.
Wednesday Turns Cooler Before A Drier Stretch
Showers may linger into early tomorrow with another slight chance of rain between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. A few thunderstorms could develop later in the day, but most of the day should be mostly sunny with a high near 81 degrees.
Thursday and Friday look notably quieter, with mostly sunny skies and highs near 82 and 83 degrees. The next more unsettled stretch arrives on Saturday, when shower and thunderstorm chances increase, followed by a cooler Sunday with a high near 79.
There are no watches or warnings in effect for Detroit. Anyone with late-night plans Tuesday should keep an eye on changing skies and be ready for a passing shower or thunderstorm, while the rest of the week offers a much calmer forecast.
