Westerville’s summer theater season is going out with a Disney Channel-sized singalong: Westerville Civic Theatre will stage Disney’s Camp Rock The Musical at Alum Creek Park North on Friday, August 28, and Saturday, August 29. Both performances start at 7 p.m., with tickets priced at $10 for everyone age 3 and up. Saturday’s show will also include an ASL interpreter, giving the local production an accessibility upgrade alongside the nostalgia.
Camp Rock Comes To Alum Creek Park
The City Government of Westerville, Ohio outlined the plan in its Tuesday Facebook announcement, billing the production as the final Civic Theatre show of the summer season. The outdoor amphitheater setting is a fitting home for a story about campers, rival bands and one very high-stakes showdown.
According to MTI’s show page, the one-act stage version combines the stories of Disney Channel’s Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. Mitchie Torres and her friends must rally to save Camp Rock from the flashy Camp Star, with songs including This Is Me, Can’t Back Down, It’s On, and We Rock.
Local Cast, $10 Tickets And Saturday ASL Interpretation
The Westerville Parks & Recreation season page lists Emma Shonkwiler as Mitchie Torres, Jude Cargill as Shane Gray and Asher Walk as Nate Gray. The ensemble also includes performers assigned to both Camp Rock and Camp Star, giving the production plenty of room for the kind of group numbers the franchise was built around.
For the nuts and bolts, the city’s ticket listing says the show is general admission, costs $10, and is free for children age 2 and under. Doors open 30 minutes before the 7 p.m. performance, and an ASL interpreter will be present Saturday, August 29.
The production caps a 2026 Civic Theatre lineup that has already included Dare to Dream JR, 9 to 5 and Anastasia, according to the season page. Westerville Parks & Recreation describes the theater as a multigenerational company where performers of all ages learn, grow and take the stage—an especially on-brand setup for a musical about finding your voice.
