Disneyland Sets 2026 Holiday Dates as Anaheim Chases 30 Million Visitors

Disneyland Resort will roll out its holiday season across all three theme parks, resort hotels, and the Downtown Disney District from Nov. 13, 2026 through Jan. 6, 2027, bringing back Santa Claus meet-and-greets, festive ride overlays, and seasonal food offerings to Anaheim. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends will debut new attire inspired by wintry alpine gatherings and holiday travel as part of the celebration.

The holiday dates and details were first reported by FOX 11 Los Angeles, whose report is based on information provided by Disneyland Resort. Santa Claus will greet guests at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure Park and at the Mickey's Toontown Trolley Barn in Disneyland Park beginning Nov. 13 and running through Dec. 24, according to the outlet's report.

Familiar Traditions Return With Their Signature Overlays

Several beloved seasonal transformations are set to reappear, including the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay and the it's a small world Holiday overlay, both of which carry decades of history at the resort. The Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay first debuted at Disneyland in October 2001 and has featured a custom edible gingerbread house display in the ride's ballroom scene every year since, according to SFGATE. The it's a small world Holiday overlay, meanwhile, dates back to November 1997, when it became the first major seasonal alteration to the classic 1966 attraction, per D23.

A Christmas Fantasy Parade will also return as a Disneyland Park holiday tradition, per the FOX 11 report. The parade originally debuted on Thanksgiving Day in 1995, replacing the Very Merry Christmas Parade that had run at the park during the 1970s and 1980s, according to Wikipedia's entry on the parade, and it features 113 characters across seven distinct units, including toy soldiers and gingerbread cookies.

Believe... In Holiday Magic will return as a nighttime spectacular combining pyrotechnics, projections, and Main Street snowfall. That show first debuted in November 2000, establishing what has become the resort's long-running tradition of castle projection mapping paired with artificial snow along Main Street U.S.A., according to AllEars.Net. World of Color - Season of Light returns as a Disney California Adventure nighttime show, and Mater's Jingle Jamboree and Luigi's Joy to the Whirl will each carry seasonal ride overlays.

Festival of Holidays and New Character Dining

The Disney Festival of Holidays will host six festive food marketplaces, including one offering braised pork belly adobo, and the Sip and Savor Pass returns for the festival as well. The festival originated in November 2016 to expand the resort's seasonal offerings with food, music, and traditions representing Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Diwali, and Three Kings Day, the Los Angeles Times reported at the time.

Holiday Toy Drummers will perform throughout the season, and Mirabel's Gifts of the Season returns as holiday entertainment. Mickey's Happy Holidays comes back as a holiday cavalcade, and the Disney ¡Viva Navidad! street party will feature the Three Caballeros. Three holiday-themed character dining experiences are set to return this season, with Storytellers Cafe and Goofy's Kitchen among the venues hosting seasonal character dining, though booking dates for those experiences remain unspecified in the FOX 11 report.

Hotel Deals, Gingerbread, and Downtown Disney Extras

Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will feature a 7-foot-tall gingerbread display in its lobby this season and continues to offer spa treatments for guests. Bookings for eligible multi-night stays open Sept. 22, 2026, and Disneyland Resort is offering up to 20% savings on select multi-night stays between Oct. 11 and Dec. 18, 2026.

Down at the Downtown Disney District, nightly snowfall and live music at the Downtown Disney Live! stage will accompany Chip and Dale's Ornament Trail. Pricing for two new souvenirs — the Mickey Train light-up popcorn bucket and the Holiday Stitch Christmas Tree sipper — remains unspecified by the report, and Disneyland Resort says additional details, including schedules and prices for the Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort guided tour, will be released in the coming months.

Ticket Prices and Park Access Remain a Sticking Point

Holiday travelers will still need to navigate Disneyland's tiered pricing system, which runs from Tier 0 to Tier 6. Standard one-day, one-park adult ticket prices range from $104 on select off-peak dates up to $194 or more on peak holiday dates, while Park Hopper tickets can exceed $300 during busy holiday periods, according to Mickey Visit. Guests still need both valid admission tickets and date-specific park reservations, though Disneyland eased its rules in May 2026 to let Park Hopper ticket holders switch parks at any time of day without waiting until 11 a.m., as reported by KTLA.

The holiday rollout arrives as Anaheim's tourism economy keeps climbing. The city recorded 26.5 million visitors in 2025, generating $6.8 billion in direct spending and a total economic impact of $10.4 billion, supporting more than 67,000 local jobs, according to Visit Anaheim data reported by Laughing Place. Visit Anaheim has also projected that convention group hotel bookings will grow 19% in 2026 to reach 568,000 room nights, part of the city's push toward 30 million annual visitors by 2028, per the Orange County Business Journal.
