Bastrop’s west side is getting another set of Golden Arches, and the ceremonial scissors already have a date on the calendar. McDonald’s second city location, part of Sendero’s expanding retail lineup, will get its official ribbon-cutting later this month.

The Bastrop Regional Chamber has scheduled the event for August 27, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m., with the actual ribbon-cutting planned for 10:30 a.m. The celebration will mark the arrival of a second McDonald’s for the growing Central Texas city.

New McDonald’s Construction Began This Spring

Construction began in April, and the project carries an estimated building cost of $1.5 million, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing cited by Community Impact. Kinney Restaurant Management Inc., which operates Bastrop’s existing McDonald’s, will also own the new location.

The restaurant is part of Sendero, a 75-acre mixed-use development along the SH 71 corridor that is filling out with restaurants, retail, housing and other services. The Bastrop Economic Development Corporation lists the second McDonald’s alongside other Sendero arrivals, including Chuy’s, Texas Roadhouse, Einstein Bros. Bagels and Jersey Mike’s Subs.
