Downtown Los Angeles is starting Monday near 67 degrees with a humid feel, but sunshine will quickly take over. Temperatures are expected to reach 91 degrees this afternoon, making for a hot, dry day with no rain in the forecast.
Sunny Monday With A Southwest Breeze
The National Weather Service’s Los Angeles/Oxnard office is calling for a sunny Monday, with southwest winds between 0 and 10 mph and the warmest stretch arriving in the early afternoon, according to the NWS forecast. The temperature should fall back to about 68 degrees overnight under mostly clear skies.
Coastal neighborhoods may still see some morning low clouds or fog before clearing, thanks to the marine layer. Downtown and inland parts of the city should turn brighter and warmer as the day progresses.
Temperatures Ease A Few Degrees Later This Week
Tuesday should reach 90 degrees, followed by highs near 89 on Wednesday and 87 on Thursday. Friday and Saturday are expected to top out around 88 degrees, with Sunday near 87.
Overnight lows will generally stay in the mid to upper 60s through the weekend. Rain chances remain essentially zero across the forecast period, with only a 1% chance listed for Saturday night and Sunday.
Interior Areas Face Much More Heat
The heat will be more intense in the mountains, deserts and far interior valleys, where the National Weather Service says temperatures could reach 100 to 110 degrees. Heat advisories and extreme heat warnings are posted for some of those areas through Wednesday, along with elevated fire weather concerns from hot, dry and breezy conditions.
